Just picked up a used set of Brembo GT brakes (not the OEM Brembos). These things clear but only have enough clearance to barely fit a sheet of paper through, so now I'm thinkin about some 5mm or 8mm spacers. U guys have any experience w/ those Ichiban spacers w/ new studs?

If the wheels clear the brakes, why do you need spacers? Just personal preference?

You should run spacers. The BREMBO caliper will expand and flex when it heats up and will cause clearance problems. Next time you may consider a BBK with less caliper flex.

cool thanks Andy. I got an awesome deal on them, so I couldn't pass up the chance. $1300 for a slightly used set.

Interesting...what manufacturer makes calipers with the lesser problems.

you can pick up 3mm spacers on ebay, i wouldn't run anything over that without getting longer studs

What rear caliper are you running?

STOPTECH calipers are pretty good, some of their calipers are completely forged like the ST22 and the rest are squeeze forged. The front calipers use a bolt on bridge to minimize caliper flex without sacrificing cooling from the caliper. With less caliper flex you will have a stronger pedal feel during extreme braking conditions as well as less vibration and pad taper.

Project Mu and Endless also make very strong calipers. Both offer fully forged calipers so you should experience less caliper flex.

Post some pics. The Brembo Gran Turismo kit is sweet! I don't blame you for getting the spacers though I did the same thing when I noticed I probally didn't have much space btween my wheel and caliper.
