Hey redlude I have a question for you. I am doing the springmount mod tomorrow, how much should i cut to get an even drop. Should I measure from floor to top of fender both front and rear and base my decision on that. I dont want the rear to be lower, thats why, i want it to be perfect. About how much lower does the front usually go.
For an even drop, ~3/8-1/2", if you already installed the springs, just measure how much lower your want the rear to be, and cut that amount, and it should be pretty close to spot on, the rubber doesn't compress much

I got 10,000 out of my tires before putting the front kits on them...but I could have gone longer....BUT NOT A GREAT IDEA!!!
Why? Well handling will suffer immensely. When you go over bumps, the entire car will shift to the right or left, depending on which side has more camber...this is really unsafe and scary when it happens and your not ready for it. Also, general handling and traction will suffer - because the contact patch is reduced by 20%-30% - sometimes more.
If you lower your car - with springs, coil-overs, etc...no matter what, you will need to adjust camber. some of the advanced coil-overs have camber adjustment in the upper ***** - but they are more than 2X the money of the non-adjustable coil-overs AND more than 4X the cost of the SPC front camber kits to begin with.
Bottom line - if you lower - adjust the camber and toe properly with a proper kit. SPC's kit rocks and has a huge amount of adjustment.
