Will the Brembo brakes that are on the G35C 6spd work on my G35 sedan? If so how much will it cost to install it and where can i get them?? Will it void the warrenty??

hey,
well, to simply answer your question...contact the guy who has his car as car of the month. he did it. i asked myself at infiniti an they said it can be done as well. if you want brembos on all 4 weels and intsalled proffesionally. i would sayhave 3 grand set aside. probably wont cost that much exactly but have it anyway for any unforseen costs. as for me...im planning to first put the aerodynamic package on my car, then perhaps some nice 18 by 8 or 8.5 tires with nicer 18 inch rims. once i do that...i might put in eibach springs for bettering cornering, lower center of gravity, etc....and then after that save up for the brembos. i just want my sedan to eventually look and perform as well as its twin brother (v35 skyline in the orient!) take care and please write back if you have any info on getting those brembos for a good price.

Don't have a G yet, but I've put Brembo's on my VW (www.apocrates.com/car/) and they're great! I believe they DO make them for the sedan, and I fully intend to buy those for my G (when I get it)

 

Are they really worth 3k?

Although the ones I paid for were noooo where near 3k, these have saved my @$$ several times, so they are worth the money expended on them. I only paid $500 for front/rears, and more $$ on dustless performance pads (asthetics and they work great).

Hmm... is this for changing the whole brake system (im not really sure whats in it) breaks, rotors? calipars? i dont even konw what these things are...

In most newer rides, vehicles are equipped with a pad+rotor combo (vs drum brakes) - this makes the conversion to a performance brake system a little easier. You would need to buy the Brembo rotors (the metal discs seen below) and some pads (a version of pad is in the pic as well). You won't want to stick with your original pads because the pad and rotor break in together - so if you take a broken in pad to a new rotor, you could warp your rotor (not worth the expendature then). Between the two, and install, you may be lookin round 6-700$, but it's not that bad considering how much more safe you'll feel. Also, with the dustless pads (not sure which manufacturer to go for on these fatty rides), everytime you brake the dust that's generated from the pad coming into contact with the rotor is sooooo fine that you can't even see it on your rim (the rim will look cleaner, longer). No need to replace rims/tires, these should fit on your stock system - anyone call Brembo to see if they truly do make rotors for the G?

Cool.. do all brembos come cross-drilled?

not necessarily... Those above (someone correct me if I'm wrong) are slotted, the cross drilled have holes drilled throughout the rotor. Getting both crossdrilled/slotted is supposed to be advantageous (heat dissapation?) from what I've heard...

 

so where can i get them? I saw on their web site they were selling the whole kit for $3000 for a G35

 

Just called a reseller (in Livermore, CA) and they gave me the lowdown on the Brembo setup.. Long story short, they have 2 sizes:


355mm- probably require 18" rims, and the kit is $3,195 (rotors, calipers, pads, steel brake lines, etc.).

332mm- can use 17" rims, and the kit is $2,895 (rotors, calipers, pads, steel brake lines, etc.).


So, turns out they don't sell the rotors individually, you have to buy the kit. lovely, huh? :P

 

Damn costs a little to much. Is there any other options we have?

 

yep they do cost a pretty penny... ive asked and some people on this forum (the ones who do have them) do feel that its worth the $ though.. I guess if it can save you from an accident its a good investment...

Ok is there any other braking option that I can get that dosent cost as much but works as good as the brembos?
