Accident: I hit the street curb, now suspension is damaged.

I had an accident and hit the street curb at about 25mph. I didn't notice it at first, but now the suspension is emitting a pulsating vibration from the front right tire and makes a rattling noise when I hit bumps. I took to the car to the dealership and they tell me that I bent some parts underneath. THey didn't specifically tell me which parts, but they estimate the damage at $3000

Any ideas as to what i may have damaged? the aligment is not off and other than the pulsating and rattle, the car is fine.

Does anyone know of a good suspernsion shop in Long Beach, CA that can help me?

Thanks

25mph usually requires replacing EVERYTHING associated: Tire, wheel, hub, lug nuts, wheel bearing suspension arms, bushings, even the sway bar gets bent. $3,000 sounds cheap I'll bet they are missing a few things.

Shock tower and body work, subframe, you name it everything has to be restored to 0.05".

A wonderful drivers education exercise

sounds like it could just be a wheel bearing to me...

take it for a 2nd opinion to a non-dealer suspension expert and let them know you're there for a 2nd opinion only. they have nothing to gain from inflating the costs.

That sounds rough though for a curb hit. DId the stealership pinpoint exactly what was wrong to you?

Even dealers don't replace enough to return it to perfect!
We constantly see and track down problems where they missed something because it looked ok..............failure to disassemble and measure everything to try to sell the job cheap.

thats what happened to me.

I took mine to a independent shop and it wasnt fixed back to oem condition...now I have to go somewhere else and have the subframe replaced (because it was damaged too but the original shop missed it) as well.

get a few quotes and make sure everything that is scratched is replaced

However buyer have accepted unnecessary big wheels and tires and big heavy rotors so something has to give to maintain a reasonable unspung weight.

Half the weight of suspension arms, springs, sway bars, and shocks are considered unsprung.
