My steering wheel is shaking badly at high speeds

So my steering wheel shakes alot at speeds usually above 60+ It's strange though because sometimes it would shake and sometimes it would be fine. I've balanced the tires twice already so that couldn't be it. Took my car to the dealership to replace my rotors and brake pads and asked them to check it out for me and they told me the main cause of vibration was a bent rim. I've driven with a bent rim before and the steering wheel didn't even shake. Could it be something else?

Purchase Hub Centric Rings. This should help the vibrations tremendously.

I would have another shop look at your wheels and tires. You might have a bent rim.

add this to the "things to check" list. . .

If it does it when you turn especially, might be a bad wheel bearing.

If it is not a bent wheel, More likely than not you have a tire issue. Do you by any chance have an aftermarket suspension?

You tire may be coming apart inside and something like that you will not even see until it blows out at 75mph and fu_k you day up !!!! I learned that lesson a few years back , it didn't turn-out too well for me !!
