From what I read, the 03/04s had bad brakes so infiniti will replace pads and rotors up to like 36k miles or something. They changed the brakes for 05+ but for some reason left the old ones on the 05 G35x. And we don't get the brake warranty that the 03/04s get.

I was surprised when it first started happening at 14k miles. I dont slam on my brakes or anything, I drive the same way as my other 3 cars that I had before. None had this problem. And for the dealer to say our brakes are only good for 15k miles??? that was surprising to me.

I don't have any experience with the stillen rotors, but the stillen pads are fine.

The pads and rotors on my 05X are shot. Brakes are squealing and I need to do something now. Looks like I am gonna look at those R1 rotors and Hawk pads. BTW, my car just turned 18K miles.

Sounds like a good plan. That will help the dust and give you a good set-up for better performance.

All my brakes and rotors were changed at 13,000 miles. Now at 20,000 miles my car squeals like crazy when I back up. I have the car in at the dealer now for some other issues and I'm waiting to see what they may do. I do not want the rotors turned as that just shortens the life of them. I would prefer if they change the pads and rotors again.

can you confirm this??? all of the reading I've done says that all 05-06 models received 12.6" front rotor upgrade??? Isn't this an improvement on the 03-04???

"you are right and a quick fight with the service manager should get you the repairs."

Or get you told to leave and never show your face again.

Dealerships are independent business which have little obligation to deal with irate customers.

Your complaints and warranty are with Nissan not dealers.

Only the 05 Coupe and non 4x Sedan got these. The 4x Sedan kept the same rotor size at the 03-04.

This is an improvement, but I have found in my 05 coupe brake pulsing at 12k miles. Per the StopTech site, the brake pad compound is not suitable for the car.

I just had a service tech at Infiniti of Ardmore (PA) tell me that this happens all the time. People expect a performance car, drive it like one, and have this happen to the brakes. It's absurd!

so i just hit 35k and my brakes are squealing like hell. I called up the dealership, they said its a 3yr 36k mileage warranty on the brakes. My car was purchased March 27th 2004...3 yrs and a little over 1 month ago. Now i gotta pay in full for it. Think there's any way to get around that?

I had my brakes checked at 35 months (30K miles) and had them checked to see if they needed replacing. They didn't yet.

10 months later, and 8000 miles, the front brakes needed replacing. I just did so at the local Nissan (I wasn't driving 200 miles round trip just to do it at the Infiniti dealership). $250 later, I should be set for driving in the mountains

Nissan just does not "get it" when it comes to brakes. I thought the shortcomings of the 2003-2004 brakes were fixed in the newer G35s......
I'm beginning to think that is not true. Just rip them off and go aftermarket calipers and rotors.

Vehicle manufacturers love it when you immediately replace brakes, tires, and wheels.................the sources of 95% of complaints.

If they could they would love to have these items optional and make buyers supply them at time of new vehicle purchase.
