vs-xx + bbk question

i have an 06 coupe and i'm ordering my vs-xx this week.

i asked status what offsets i should get to have bbks in the front
i've been reading that the +28 front have been scratching the stock brembos

their response was:
"i wouldn't advise that wheel due to the really low brake clearance..."
uhhh gee ok thanks

i'm stubborn as hell and i want that wheel with a bbk. i don't care about lippage in the front. since i'm paying a grip for the wheels, i don't want to use spacers. can anyone help me out with this?

this is the bbk i'm considering:
http://mynismo.com/products/?id=4110

also, my rear calipers will stay stock with only a rotor upgrade.
has anyone dared to go lower than +23 in the rear with the vs-xx?

for the rear, i want more lip than angelina jolie.

any help will be great
if i have time today i'm heading over to f1

THANKS!

If peopel are not getting enough clearance with a WORK 19x9.5+28, then you don't have a chance of clearing without a spacer. That wheel is already using their R-Disc, which is their BBK face. IMO, purchase the 19x9.5+28, and run a 10mm spacer to get to +18, which yields a 2.44" lip, or run a 19x9.5+40 Rdisk and a 25mm spacer. That will give you more clearance, with a 2" lip. For the rear, you'll want an O-Disc. You can run 19x10.5+17 which gives you a 4.44" lip, or a more conservative +29 which gives you a 3.9" lip, another option is an A-Disc 19x10.5 +19 which also yields a 3.9" lip, but allows for more clearance behind the spokes for a possible small rear BBK upgrade such as the OEM brembo rear setup. These suggestions are based on their standard sizing chart found Here. I'm not sure about their custom offset policy, and whether they make other faces for their wheels. Hope that helps you out.

i've been staring at the vs-xx pdf file for months already

i just got off the phone with chris from f1
turns out:

1. +17 could be done on the rear. up until now, i thought +23 was the lowest any1 dared to go.

2. with a bbk on vs-xx any offset would require spacers for the front.

i guess i'm gonna go with the 19x9.5 +28 front and 19x10.5 +17 rear

thanks for the help redlude97

actually even with the 9.5 +28 front, F1 had to use a 3mm spacer (that came with the wheel) in order to clear my front stock brembos...

i think a pebble couldn't fit between the spoke and the caliper.

so far i haven't had a problem... (knocks on wood)

He knows that, he stated all offsets would require a spacer. I believe he's going to run a 9.5+28 and use a spacer to clear the BBK

+17 is the newest trend, the rear volk gt-s's come in 10.5 +17 so its getting pretty common now so you should be fine, but you may require a slight roll depending on your tire and camber settings

+17 is semi aggressive, you want aggressive, id go with +0 all around. stretched tire and rolled fenders. of course neg. camber is needed.

Would not clear the brakes which is the purpose of this thread.

The offset makes no difference in this case, a +17 and a +0 will have the same bbk clearance using an r-disk
