Sedan non sport Drop Qs???

I want to drop my 05 sedan (NON SPORT) sedan since i got 19" racing harts. Im clueless on which brand to go with but after some research i was thinking between H&R and tein s-techs because currently my front is riding .5in higher then my rear. I know alot of people are droppin using 350z springs but i have no clue on which ones to look for and if they will handle as well as aftermarket. So my question is ... which would u guys recomend for a mild drop and for the best handling.
Also will i need to buy anything else since my i have the stock non sport suspension?

Since you have the none sport you will need to get a set of shocks regardless of the springs you choose reason being they will wear eventually. With that being said your options are H&R, Eibach Pro Kits or 350 spring and shocks of any year. A set of aftermarket springs will cost a little over 200 and a set of Tokico Dspec shocks will be over 500 dollars. 350z springs (any year) and shocks will cost you about 200 dollars at the most all of these will give you 1 inch drop. My own personal experience has been with 350z/G35 coupe springs and Eibach Pro Kit springs on stock sport shocks. I prefer my 350z/G35coupe set up out of the two.

I would not consider the H&R a "mild" drop. It is a 1.3/1.2 and put me right at the top of the tires on my 20's. If that is the look you are going for I would do those. If you want a little higher stick with the Tein or 350 springs.

You also need to budget front and rear camber kits if you want to do the drop right and prevent excessive inside tire wear.

The SPC front and rear camber kit's go for $600 shipped IIRC

I'd suggest getting a full 350Z revised suspension for the best handling. ($200)

The 350Z strut bar does not fit the G. You can get the Richie, Circuit Sports, VRT, or ARC strut bars that fit the G35.

Are there any other parts that are necessery to complete the drop?
Thanks

Don't most people say, dependent on the situation, that you could squeeze by without camber kits with 350 springs?

no it is not necessary to complete a drop. It's not even a part of the shock/spring that actually drops the car. It bolts up in the engine bay on top of the strut mounts.

I wouldn't count on that assumption. Unless you don't mind faster tire wear, you'll likely need camber kits. But every car is a little different, so you might be able to get yours back to specs.

G coupe springs when run on a sedan will drop the sedan .5"
350Z springs when run on a sedan will drop the sedan 1"

Why do some owners run 350Z front springs and coupe rear springs? They do this to get what is for them a more appealing amount of front drop vs rear drop.

For the purpose of this discussion, the differance that matters between revised and unrevised oem 350Z springs come down to how the two differ spring rate wise in the rear.

2003-2004 unrevised oem 350Z springs
314/342

2004.5-2007 revised oem 350Z springs
314/427

Why does the rear rate matter? It really matter's to those sedan owners that plan on keeping their oem sport shocks. The 427lbs rear rates in the revised setups is not a good idea since the rear sedan sport shocks do not have a built in over capacity to deal with a 25% increase in spring.

What about my oem non sport shocks. Only setup I would really trust would be Eibach pro-kits since they were developed on a sedan with the non sport suspension.

Based on what you want I would locate a 2005-2007 oem 350Z suspension and either a set of Hotchkis sway's or Stillen sway's. Though I'd ditch the sway's and get Tokico D-specs ($500) and run them with a set of oem Z springs ($80 shipped), $580 isn't bad.

Oh and just to very clearly spell it out, do not under any circumstances get a unrevised set of oem Z shocks. The unrevised springs are fine, the shocks are not.

That was one of the best replies on this topic I have ever seen. You need to save that off and copy/paste every other day when this question comes up!
