Rear brake problem
Rear brake problem please help!!!
I did my rear brakes recently and had a hell of a time getting the caliper bolts out because one side totally rusted in and the other had on bolt rusted. I got new pins and a new boot kit. I put everything together and noticed that the driver side caliper piston is torn. I also notices that the caliper pin that had the tinny rubber donut on the end of it does not allow the pin to go completely inside the bracket. I cleaned the bracket out and made sure there was nothing in it. After putting the driver side caliper on I drove on it for a little and noticed that the brakes are locked up. The caliper bolt is forcing the pad to continuously apply pressure to the rotor. I took it apart and took the donut ring off for now until I can get it to a shop. Now I guess my main question is: Will the dealer replace the caliper and the bracket under and expanded warranty? Also since the pads and rotor are fried will they replace those too if I say it's because of the faulty bracket?
the rotors, pads, pins and boot kit are all after market.
thnx for any input.

Using aftermarket pads and rotors plus pins and boots [+ tampering] should totally release Nissan from any obligation concerning calipers or their repair or replacement.
Sounds like your choices overheated the calipers.

I dropped the car off at the dealer and they said the extended warranty will cover the caliper but nothing else. So I have to wait 2 days for the caliper to come in and get it on.
