Equating wheel width to tire size?

Is there a chart or similar that will show me what width/offset wheels I need to go with a particular tire size? I plan on sticking with 19" same as my OEM's, but something wider.

there is no real chart that i know of, most choose they tire size a. in accordance to their wheel width and b. for looks. the offset of the wheel wont affect the tire, just how the wheel/lip sits. It really depends what you are looking for, if you had the wheel sizes you were thinking of it would be easier to give you a correct tire size. you can low pro high pro chunky or stretched, the choice is yours.

was intending to just stick with my stock rubber for my new wheels, 8.0 & 8.5, but, lots have suggested that I may want to go with bigger rubber now and go with wider tires. I am thinking 255/35/19 & 275/35/19 or something close to that. I think I want to try the Nitto invo tires.

some of your terms are misleading, stock wheels but new tires? new wheels new tires? 275 is way too big for an 8.5 width, you're gonna wanna stick to the stock sizes like 255~245, 275 come in handy when you are lookin at like 10.5 in the rear.

tire size
275/35/20R 101Y

275 = 275mm WIDE
35 = 30% of 275 = Height of Sidwall in mm
20 = Diameter of wheel
R = Radial
101Y = Speed Rating

thats how you read a tire.. now compair that to the size of your rim

Yu can use this calculation tool to determine what will work for the width of your rims and what the tire sizes are relative to the OEM diameters. A common recommendation is to keep the outside diameter of your new tires within 3% of the outside diameter of your OEM tires.

I currently have 18x8.5 in the front and 18x9.5 in the rear. The front are sitting on 275/35/18 and the rear are 285/35/18. All the tires expert out there, please tell me is this safe to keep on or not.
