I brought one for my other car but not for the G. Brembo is pretty decent when dealing with the general public and will answer all questions.

I wouldn't do it just because it requires alot of work, engineering, research, trial an error to get something that performs as well as stock or better. It is very easy to screw up the brake bias on the car using incorrectly sized rotors or calipers with incorrect piston sizing leading to worse performance than stock, why spend all that time and money just to hurt your performance? Stick to kits that have been track tested with good R&D put into them such as the stoptech or AP racing kits.

After reading about BBKs for the past week.. I narrowed it down to a few (in this order)

1. Megan BBKs
2. Project MU
3. StopTECH
4. JBT

1. Megan.. although not known for their quality.. they do make some pretty good products at a good price (coil overs, test pipes..) After talking to Scott from relentless (great guy) and reading his review on my350z about the Megans I've made up my mind to get them.. They're listed $3,400.00 on their website www.meganracing.com and offer a 6POT 13.9" Front and a 4POT 13.5" Rear. The only thing thats giving me second thoughts is the crap I'm going to get from people at shows and the color - only color is blue. Scott tested these in his time attacks and spoke very highly about them so that influenced a big part of my decision. Downside is that there arnt any other reviews for them since no one has them. (GreddySetGo was selling a set before). Also I'm sure new pads & rotors will be very fairly priced on these

2. Project Mu. If I get these it'll be for ONE main reason.. LOOK and BRAND NAME.. the anodized TEAL is AWSOME =D but for the price HOWEVER there is a member local to me selling his 14" 6POT and 13.5" 4POT Kit for $5,000 OBO =DDD but I have no idea what new pads and rotors are going to cost me and I have no idea how these are on the street

3. Stoptechs for both looks and pretty much okey review all around and everyone has them.. Also I can get a killer deal on these BBKs =D (dont PM me this offer was for my car - not for me lol) but I refuse to jump on the bandwagon like everyone else

4. JBT.. rumored to be the manufactures of rotora racing bbks.. will do a custom 15" 8POT front and a 14" 6POT rear.. very tempting offer but for the money I think I might as well step it up and get the Project MUs.. Lastly I have no idea how these preform (lots of postive reviews on Mitsu EVOs) and lots of people saying how they have a BBK for a 911 (but cant find any track reviews on) I'd imagen these will be pretty street friendly as they offer two different types of pads (street / track). I didnt get much info outta them.. not much listed anywhere about what type of rotors are used and if everythings in housed.. etc.. but they are local (socal) and it is a small company completely dedicated to brake technology. Down side to that is I'll need to run 19s or 20s all the time.. (meaning no light weight 18s and light r-compound tires for the track).

so just want to share what I've found.. Best looking BBK = Project MU.. but I kinda want to give the underdog a shot (megan)... iono =P still thinking before I make a deposit on anyone of them.

Whats influancing my decision (not in this order):
1. Looks, it is going to be in shows and I do want to get the WOW look
2. Performance.. Although this car is almost daily driven.. well weekend driven I plan on taking it to the track =DDD and getting my full moneys worth on this car =DDD
3. Street Driven.. I want brakes that wont squeek at every single stop and I dont want pads that'll require me to warm them up to be able to stop. And I am going to drive the car around so if its going to cost me an arm to change pads and rotors everytime O.O

Stoptech is easily the performance winner out of the bunch, they can show your info about brake bias testing, stopping performance etc, unlike the other companies which have very little R&D work behind their products

But after reading many reviews.. the majority of everyone is happy but there area lot of reviews rating them 7/10. But yeah I'd love to have them.. they look awsome and lots and lots of info and reviews everywhere

Lastly everyone has them.. they're like the Volk Racing of BBKs lol. Their gold color looks hot too =)

so what are the issues people are having with them? I haven't seen many. Another brand to consider that is slightly less popular(rarer) that are track tested are the AP racing BBK's.

That's the one I was going to mention that I didn't see on the list, AP Racing.

If you're going to track the car, something you should consider is replacement of rotors and pads. AP, Stoptech and RacingBrake have a lot of good support for pads. Don't want to get a kit and find out that pads are hard to source or incredibly expensive!

Reason I mentioned Project MU and not Endless is because I want the Blue Anodized Endless calipers which are a 3month wait for the 350z kit! ._. I cant wait 3 months for a BBK Kit =\

Nothing big on stoptechs just some guys who track hard have some fading issues.. but nothing big.. I mean its 3rd on my list on BBKs and I do love them =P if it I wasnt so picky I probably would've bought the Gold or Black StopTechs 2 months ago =P At the same time I want something different.

+1 AP Racing are great brakes but just not my brand of coffee.. Seen some excellent cars they've built (and excellent cars with them as well).

No brembo because I do not know anyone at brembo so the cost would be close to full retail. I can think of over a dozen different names of BBK companies off the top of my head right now. =P but narrowed it down to these.. the Endless and Project MUs calipers are sexy tho.. but at the sametime I can buy the Megans New, Re-powdercoat them to a custom color even anodize them and probably buy another set of rotors and pads then get them installed for less then the price of the project mu.

Keep in mind this car is NO SPONSORS =) but I do and will take care of everyone thats helped me built this car.. an example would the insane amount of business the paint/bodyshop is recieving from me. Since they've painted my car they've been doing at LEAST 2 kits from me a week and will be painting over 30 poly urathane grills =P

also the players now will be mentioned and a part of my SurfaceMODz's upcoming website.

Helldorado how do you like your AP Racing brakes as far as street driving goes. also hows the wear?

If the only issues with the stoptechs are fading issues, I don't think the megans or the project mu's are going to be any better, probably worse on the track. The "issues" are probably seen by people who are pushing them way harder than anyone who has the megan's or project mu's so you can't really say that is a fault to them. Pad choice is also a major reason for fade, so unless the same pads were used on the same day there isn't really a point in comparing. The bottom line is that the stoptechs probably have the most track time out of all the kits, and thus will have more percieved "issues", but I have yet to see a set of project mu's run hard on the track, mainly only on show cars that like the JDM bling. Really look into pad selection for both the megan's and the project mu's before you decide to check off the stoptechs, which have a wide array of pad choices for various applications

^ just reading off of the reviews about fade due to heat & calipers. Reviews i'm reading are all using regular out of the box street pads

I can pull some of them up here when i get back to work tomorrow (history)

not bashing stoptech in anyway.. like i said in the above thread.. if i werent so bored I would've been runing them by now =P
