Today to avoid a car I had to swerve into a junction at high speed and when braking there was a grinding sound like when you startup the car drive 10mph and the car does that abs check grind.

Is this normal? Or is it the sound of ABS working? afaik abs doesn't make noise when its working? I thought it just pulsates?

 

Absolutely. It could have been ABS or VDC (which uses ABS per wheel).

 

Every time my Anti-slip kicks in, it sounds like a grinding noise. I think you are OK.
