However, they only replaced that ONE rod, and now the passenger side is doing it when it's cold out in the AM (50's and 60's) but silent during the day.

I'm gonna bring it in anyway, i got some other minor issues to fix and i want to drive a new G35x around for a day or so
did they cover it as a warranty job or did you have to dig DEEP for the repair...?

It was warranty work.

I also brought it in for an Airbag light....they replaced the clockspring, driver's side air bag and a sensor for a passenger air bag light.

I would HATE to see what that repair bill would have been.

I'm still under warranty until next Feb

I've heard it's around the $800 range to replace the Compression Rods... most of that for labor!?!?!

Yeah, if it wasn't in warranty i would have just done it myself. I have the mechanical ability and tools since i've built engines, trans and rears for my Mustang...but i bought a newer car with a warranty for a reason.

With the airbag stuff i had fixed, i prob would have had a $2500 bill for that work. Ouch.

I had this same issue and replaced everything, both front compression rods, and all 4 sway bar end links. I still have a minor clunk on the driver side and lately have developed a squeak when turning left and right *coming from the drivers side*

What could this be?

Mine is at the dealer right now. I hope I don't get the "can't duplicate noise" response. Might have to schedule a ride-along with a tech if I don't get anywhere today.

On a side note, Where is the VDC off button on my EX35 loaner.....

I don't think there is one. I couldn't find it unless you access it through the NAV screen

I hated my EX35...but loved all the cool cameras and lane warning systems and stuff

Just got my car back this evening. No more clunk! They replaced both compression rods on both sides. I also had my rocking seat fixed and it now is sturdy, but they broke my seat finisher (the plastic surround on the bottom sides of the seat) and thought I woulndn't notice. I think they broke the back to clips so it kind of dangles off the back of the seat now. argggg!!! I also had my belts changed and the diff flushed while I was there. Going to call tomorrow and complain about it. Oh, I did find the VDC off on the EX, that car is so not fun do drive.

Observations after driving 150 miles with new compression rods:
The clunk I was experiencing is no longer present.
The front suspension feels tighter, feels more similar to how it felt when it was new

Does anyone know where I can get one for a reasonable price delivered to Toronto, Canada?

Thanks.

Is he talking about #5?

The best place to buy quality suspension components is this one. http://www.splparts.com/main4/index.htm Replace rubber bushings with solid ones and never worry about it again.

What I was asking about isn't pictured. It's a white piece of plastic that wraps around the lower three coils of the spring. It's split lengthwise to allow it to be put on the spring.

so is there a tsb on this creaking-over-driveways/compression rod ? Infiniti dealers in Vegas usually do not want to do anything for free :P

there was one for the axle not properly lubed...btw, they fixed mine and now it's fine.

Does anyone know where to have G35 compression rod bushings replaced rather than replacing the whole compression rod? Evidently done in the U.S
