been searching a few strut tower braces because this is probably the only mod i do not have.

a lot of good reviews considering these strut braces work... but looking for a brace that has room for the coilover adjustment ****. i have the HKS Hipermax II and do not use an EDFC or anything similar... to adjust, i must insert an allen wrench and twist to adjust.

a lot of strut braces do not offer room to stick an the wrench in: richie, stillen, circuit sports, etc... the only strut brace that does offer room is the GT SPEC / Relentless brace, but that's $$$.

can anyone recommend a strut brace with sufficient room? if all fails, either i drill into the regular braces if i don't cough up enough doe for the GT Relentless brace.

All of the coilovers are different with the height and positioning of the adjustment ***** so what may work for one might not work for another. The only guaranteed one is the GT Spec/Relentless since it's design doesn't use the space above the shock towers. I have the ARC bar and it interfered with my Tokico D-Specs. Now I have the Cusco Zero 2's and they do not get in the way at all. Hopefully some owners of a strut tower bar and the HKS Hipermax II can chime in on here with their experiences.

 

The VRT/Relentless Bar Flat out works. The others not so much. Remember, you get what you pay for

still searching... i wonder if a small hole in a bar will crucially destroy the integrity of the brace.

the circuit sports bar looks mighty tempting... but don't really want to drill into that.

also, how tall was the adjustment **** of the cusco's in comparison to the d-specs from the mounting flange?

 

I got the NRG bar (basically Richie's V2 with a little emblem) in a month ago. It fits with my Crawford V5, Vortech, and Tein EDFC motors.

 

From all the reviews I have seen you are right. I didn't notice much from the Richies's that I have but I got with low expectations for that style. Without going solid and something stronger than AL you are not going to get the full gains. But the $200 vs $500 is a big jump for the gains you do get. I think a good set of sway bars do a lot more.

 

IMO, for sways to really work, you need to tie the shock towers together. Look what Nissan did on the '07 Nismo 350Z. Not one, but two STBs, and additional frame welds. The VRT/Relentless Bar, again IMO, is worth the money, well as I said above, it works. You really don't know how well, until you have one.

I had the RA STB bar installed first with the Stillen rear STB, then did 350EVO sways on the stiffest setting. The STB alone made a much more tangible improvement to the direct feel of steering than the sways did. I won't take off the the front STB unless I do an engine mod that won't allow it.

 

I've had Hotchkis sways and GT-Spec front/rear LTB's in for 1.5yrs now. Daily driven and AutoX'ed heavily. I installed this NRG FSTB just over a month ago, and I felt the difference right away. Much more dramatic than I would've imagined.
