Clicking Rear Axle...need more help
#16
I did use the search function before posting this. If you read my initial post carefully, you would realize that I was aware of how much information already exists on this topic. However, everyone who experienced this problem seemed to get it fixed while I still have the problem even after taking it twice to the dealership and performing the TSB once myself, which is the difference. I didn't want to waste anyone's time...really. All I needed was a little extra input because I couldn't figure out the cause...that's all. Sorry if it was an inconvenience.
Honestly, thanks for the added info...I didn't realize that you had to apply so much torque to the center axle nut. I only applied the specified amount, which was 177 ft-lbs according to the TSB. I was concerned with damaging the assembly if I over-torqued the nut. Maybe I should add more grease to the outer joint and splines before re-torquing again. In light of this info, I don't think I applied as much as I should have. Thanks again guys for the input.

Sorry for the vent, but seriously what the hell? Use the search function

EDIT: The main bolt that you take off first right between the wheel studs you literally need to greese the hell out of that bolt and then use an impact wrench for a good 6 seconds...you shouldn't have it after that.
