Is it worth dropping your car with lowering springs?

Its a given that almost half of the members on this board had or will drop their car sooner or later. I did a search about the harms that that it could do to your car, such as undercarriage scrapping, front bumper scrapping, wheel issues, chipped/cracked panels and body kit that would cost a lot of $$$$ to repair. To my surprise, there are very little thread discussed about this issue considering a lot of you had dropped your car.

I just bought a brand new 07G coupe(last week) and my Tien S springs just came in so i'm very tempted to lower my G, yet i'm scared ****less and the thought of things that could go wrong kinda make me wanna hold off a little.
Question to you is, it it worth all of that just b/c you wanted a more aggressive look?

no doubt about it, yes. You're only dropping it a little over an inch so its not like its something ridiculous. If you are afraid of problems, just bring it to a good shop.

Yes, just don't go too far. Too many other problems if you go past an inch, imo. Bumpsteer, alignment, etc.

Our car doesnt have a long front end, so you wont be scraping often in the driveways. I droped my car about an inch, and have had 0 problems.

I keep hearing mixed info on dropping my X sedan, but I think I'm gonna keep suspension stock to get the most out of the AWD system. That's right though, you're fine with an inch drop. IMO anything than 1.5 is lotsa work for little.

drive around first and get used to your new car before dropping it imo. depending on your driving style..you just hafta be extra careful driving a lowered car, i.e. angle at every dip/driveway/bump. if you're already having problems scraping when you're not lowered, which i doubt you're having, then you shouldn't be driving a lowered car. i think you should be fine..s-techs aren't much of a drop

thanks for the replies guy. I actually did drive a dropped car(1") before but it was on an old eclipse of mine and I had very little problem unit I put on a front pumper kit that made the front end long that cause me to scrap a lot and ended up cracking it down the road. The front of the Gs seems short and narrow which should give me more leaverage to move around. I think I've made pretty good judgment in terms of driving and being carefull. I think i'm gonna go for it...
