The VDC/SLIP lights going off could be the throttle body going bad. Happened to mine.

another vote for RBull solution. I just had my steering wheel angle position sensor reprogrammed as well. I replaced the clock spring that's why the mine was off. Dealer charged me $105 for 15 mins job.

Since your steering wheel alignment is way off that is your trouble. The VDC is acting as if the wheels are straight when they are turned and vice versa causing slip angle intervention etc.

just chiming in... it could be your alignment..

try turning your vdc off before you start moving your car..

As soon as I got it aligned it went away...

He hasn't logged in for a a couple of weeks so I don't know if we will ever get an answer. Looks like he signed up, got his answers, and disappeared.
