winter tire sizes on stock 18"

Im looking at getting a G35 again (last time was a sedan). My 540i 6speed, though a real gem to drive, is starting to drain me both financially and physically with me being a DIY guy. (sarcasm) Its really reliable, nothings gone wrong for the last month (/sarcasm).

I have a question about the stock sport 18". I think they are 8.0/8.5 correct? If so, has anyone ran 225/45R18's all around for a winter set-up?

Coming from the E46 forums as well (My other vehicle is a 00 328Ci), I know on my stock sport package rims, I can fit 225's on the rear 8.5" rims. I'm just wondering if any of you guys have experience with this on the G?

you must run staggered sizes or the abs and tcs systems will freak out. i know this because the previous owner had put the wrong size winter tires on the factory wheels and i didnt get down my alley before the systems went into protect mode.the g is ok with about 7 to 9 % difference from stock but anymore and it will code the tcs.it seems that the rear diff is more sensitive then the front one for rolling diameter weird as they are all independent sensors
