VDC or brakes???

sounds like u are understeering the car and by even touching the brakes the vdc will kick in and shake the whole car to bring it under control. I never understood the concept of pushing the car with VDC on. I think it is the most stupidest thing u can ever do.

Interesting your getting the brake activation at that speed. I encountered the same thing but it wasnt at 40mph, more like 80. But I was also at the track.

In addition to VDC, the car also has a YAW sensor which is underneath your center console. Even with the VDC off the YAW is still on and can activate your brakes if the YAW thinks the car is outa control.

If you're an advanced enough driver techie you can install a switch in the console right above the sensor. There is a thread about it somewhere.

i just got brand new tires for the rear and the same thing happens. i turned the VDC off and everything was fine.

Keep i nmind that new tires take a few hundred miles to wear in properly, and can be more slippery during the break-in period.

But it sounds like you may want to have your VDC looked at.
