a friend of min ejsut imported a Silvia S13 and it has JDM 300Z 4 psiton calipers on teh front, are these calipers a direct replacement (bolt on) for our stock fronts? something to look into considering these are a pretty slick looking unit and come complete with "nissan" in white. they look to be the same style calipers found on the 05 and 06 WRX's (not the brembo STI's). older R32 skylines and numerous other Japanese sport models

Be a guinea pig and see if the bolt up from our friends S13. Im going to say the bolts will be off, I dont think the techs followed the same specs as an older model, but it would be a cool find!

If the bolt holes do line up, you have to make sure that the G's rotors are the correct diameter and thickness.

according to the R32 boards they are 290mm rotors and 30 mm calipers. which is right within spec so essentially its down to bolt pattern, im gonn aborrow a buddies and see what happens, if it works ill go with nice cblack cadmium brembo slotted rotrs and hawk pads and these alipers and have a sick brake setup for less than 750 bucks.Originally Posted by Gilley

if it works you are the new "300z brake find guy" and all non brembo and value drivers will bow to you. Hurry up and see if it works

IIRC, its already been tried by Z1 motorsports over on my350z.com and they gave up the project because it wasn't cost effective, its not a direct bolt on. Also, the rotor sizes are smaller than all the OEM nonbrembo setups so performance won't be any better really.
Thanks, ill do a search over on my350z too and see what i can come up with.

have tried... will not work unless you make some caliper spacers... the offset of the caliper does not line up with the rotor when mounted to the hub...
its not going to be that large of a rotor either...
i wouldnt do it...

Update; i foudn out the saem thign by doing some research, however i also found out that JDM subaru calipers that are 4 piston may work , they came satandard on wrx's oever there.

Look for a good set of used Brembos. They will be your best bet for a relatively inexpensive brake upgrade.

seems to me that unfortunately you are right, whcih is not wha ti wnted to hear because i do not want to go with an 18" wheel, this car gets driven every where everyday and i just cant handle the road noise and everything else that comes with a slightly larger wheel and tire.

Only the rim is larger in diameter. The tires, if properly chosen, will be the same outside diameter as the OEM 17. I changed the 17 inch sport wheels on my sedan to the coupe 18's. Those rims will clear the Brembos too.

17" oem coupe wheels clear the OEM brembos with a small spacer, so going with the brembo BBK doesn't mean you have to step up to an 18" wheel at all.

Perfect!!!! any idea how much of a spacer we are talking here? keep in mind this is a sedan so space is already limited once you put the coupe wheels on.

I think you will run into either a bolt pattern problem or a caliper/rotor offset problem.
