Wouldn't that mean that the nonsport suspension would be prone to oversteer then? I've driven both in stock form the sport suspension definetly is more neutral.

 

For the vast majority of drivers, understeer is much easier to bail out of. When understeering, you only have to get off the gas to control it.

When oversteering, getting off the gas or trying to correct might get you into way too much trouble. ie.. 180, 360 etccc. especially in the rain

 

That is a good question, i guess im gonna stiffen up the front also and see what kind of difference it makes. But I KNOW that on my car when i had it on medium/medium, the front felt heavy and tended to push it out.

The thing is med front is diff than med rear. If I remember, the stiffness ratings are diff from frt/back. So putting it med front makes is let's say 25% stiffer. But a med rear might make it 35% stiffer than stock. Or vice versa(note I just made up the % for conversations sake)

 

Stiffness settings for the front/rear sways:
Front - Rate Increase over stock +9%,+32%,+63%
Rear - Increase over stock +54%,+92%,+146%

So right now im 32% stiffer in the front and 146% stiffer in the back.

 

You may have reached the point where your rear is so stiff its no longer contacting the ground efficiently. Try soft front and med rear if you have the chance, and see if your opinion is still the same.

 

Wow. okay... lot of info. I have g35 tein h-tech springs. So I should go ahead and put the rear stiff? I use to drift my car at events alot. I'm not sure what settings would benefit me.

 

I will try stiff/stiff and soft/medium this weekend and let u guys know. I have local test track for these kinds of stuff.

 

from what i have read, every car responds different. Tires, rims, alignment play a big role as far as swaybar settings go. I say try stiff rear and medium front and see if u like it. I know mine with that setting it is very easy to get the back out and hold it in a long slide.

 

I would recommend med/med to start with. Its the most common starting point for the hotchkis bars

 

I have soft/med with Stillen and it still understeers a bit. So, if I am gathering this correctly, a stiff/med setting would have a tendency to oversteer a bit? Where is GSedan35 when you need him?

 

Go to med/med first before going to stiff in the front

 

I just switched the settings from stiff/med to stiff/stiff. Went to a local test track and tore this baby appart. One thing i noticed was the front goes into a turn more direct now. There is the usual oversteer at the limit, but the front is much more direct now. I think this is the best setting for me and the setup that i have. A bit of oversteer and a very direct turn in.
