Installing 350Z H-tech Suspension HELP!!!!!
i've been installing my new 350Z H-techs and i have some questions, hopefully you suspension gurus can help me out here.
i'm working on the front and i've already got my new spring in onto the strut/spring assembly as you can see in the picture. i tightened the top bolt the best i could and put all the suspension back together as you can see in the picture, hopefully.
the one thing i realized was that the top upper mount for the strut does not sit flush with the 350z h-techs. if i make it fit into the grove, than the 3 bolts on top of the strut will not fit into the upper part of the car. i had to turn the angle of the upper mount a little bit in order for the lower part of the strut to fit into the lower suspension arm and for the 3 top bolts to fit into the top. is that ok? maybe 350z h-tech's aren't suppose to fit, i don't know.

my other question is about tightening the top bolt of the strut. when i took the whole assembly out and replaced it with the 350z h-tech, i did not compress the string and just screwed on the top bolt as best i could. in the DIY it says to tightened the top bolt and torque it down after you lower the car back onto the ground. is that what i need to do? when i torque this upper bolt now, will the inner part of the bolt just keep rotating as well and not allow the bolt to go down? ( i hope you guys who have done this before know what i mean)

please help guys! i've been doing this all day and i had to stop to help with Christmas eve dinner, can't wait to get this done with, thanks guys!!

for the first question it sounds like the spring did not seat right over the shock. It is suppose to fit snug in the grove at both the top and bottom. If it doesnt then something is wrong.
You shoudlnt spin the center part. That is not good. You need a wrench for the nut and an adjustable wrench to hold the center so it wont spin. I installed my original s-techs myself and had no problems.

i did use a nut and an adjustable wrench to tighten the center when the assembly was off my car. but i couldn't tighten it too much since i didn't use a spring compressor ( did i need to compress it? i could fit the upper mount back on so i thought i didn't have to compress the spring)
