I need to replace the pads on my Brembo equipped 6MT coupe. I want a pad that has good bite in the cold (Hawk HPS is out of the door), that lasts decently long, and doesn't dust too badly. I realise that no pad will excel at all three areas (though if there is, please mention it!).

I am thinking of going OEM, but are there any other good alternatives? How are the EBC Greenstuff pads? What about Raybestos Quiet Stops (a lot of the maxima guys praised these pads when I owned a maxima).

Supposedly the Satisfied Pro Perform "OEM" pads, sold at Tirerack, are pretty good alternatives to OEM, and are relatively cheap @$24 an axle. So, if you don't end up liking them, you're not out too much money. But check out the reviews on tirerack, including one by a G35 owner w/Brembos who was quite pleased with them and even tracked them a few times.

i got a set of axxis brakes pads i'll sell you cheap. had them on my car for a day and didnt like the dust compared to the hawks. imo, hawk hps ftw! low dust, good bite and i get them from tire rack, so also good price.

Thanks for the offer on the axxis brake pads, however I have had axxis on my old maxima, and I really hated them (dusted way too much and wore too quickly).

I've had the satisfied pro ceramic $38...hardly any dust and just as good if not better stopping power...Ive had them for about 1100 mi so far

Which ones did you have? My Axxis pads give off very little dust. importrp.com has really good prices on these.

Kingrukus, what did you end up going with and are you happy? Mine aren't ready to change but I have the same perspective as you for when I do. I want OE or better performance and no cold brake weak bite. Hawks don't sound like they fit the bill.

Stuck with OEM on my pad change and am very happy. Aside from the dust, these things have great bite, don't fade with street use, and haven't issued a single squeal since I installed them. Key is to use a decent amount of brake lube. Don't forget - dust means the pads are working well. And a nice coat of Wheelwax on your wheels makes removing dust relatively easy.

anyone know where i can get some OEM pads for cheap, im trying to avoid going to the stealership, i need new pads asap!

i too think the OE pads are the best of compromise... althought it
does dust quite a bit, just clean them every few runs.

I ended up going with the Satisfied Ceramic Pro's from TireRack. I have had them on for close to 20000km now with no complaints. They seem to stop as well as the OEM pads, however the lack of dust may say otherwise. I never push my brakes to their limits however...

I'll stick with my Hawk HPs, of course I don't have the "Cold" issues you guys
do but I sure like the lack of dust on my Volks.
