yo! need tein basics followup

for all of you who have tein basics... hows it workin out for you so far? just wonderin how good of quality it is and how long it stays intact over time. the wear and tear factor is of a concern for me as well as performance.

i've had mine for a couple months now and i love them, they feel like stock, the ride isn't bumpy at all, though they are prob near the bottom of the list as far as performance goes
so if performance is not your type priority, and you want a clean drop with adjustability and a lil stiffer spring rate than stock than get them, i love em so far

I've had mine on for a few months... so far so good! For everyday driving it really tightened the car up, and gave me the drop I wanted. The ride is a little firmer than stock, but is really only noticeable on bad roads. As far as a downside, the extra firmness seems to have brought out a few rattles and creaks, but nothing too serious. I recently took the car to an autocross event, and it handled great! Very predictable, with very little body roll - loved it!

You really can't beat em for the price.

I've had mine for almost 1 1/2 years but with only 12k miles on it and I must say that they've gotten little bouncy over time. If adjusting the height of your car is your only concern then go for it, But if you want some dampening adjustment as well try out the BC coilovers as its only a 100-150 dollars more than the basics.

Pretty easy to adjust. You can get the front very low IMO which I think is what you'd be looking for at shows. The back however isn't going to give you a show look if you want the tucked look. You'll have to cut the rear rubber top spring mount or remove it to get lower. I'm considering the spring mount mod myself.

As for performance, the basics provide a very decent ride at a reasonable price. Not harsh by any means but coupled with low profile tires, you feel the bumps on shi**y roads.

I heard the tein basics gets squeaky after 40k miles of regular driving...which means the shocks are ready to give in...

Not sure now but I'll be able to tell you next week after I do the springmount mod. I had to order the top mounts because no dealer had them locally. I wanted to make sure I could install the originals if the additional drop didn't work out. My fender wall is about .75" above the tire right now and I've removed the rear camber with the SPC kit. Just wondering if I'm going to have to roll my fenders too.

I'm looking to update my stock suspension and don't really need to go super low. I'm even fine with the stock stance, but I'd like to stiffen it up some. But curious at what lowered stance is a camber kit required?

I've had my basics for a good 20k miles and they're holding up great The rear is a little squeaky over speed bumps and dips at slow speeds, but nothing the sound system doesnt drown out. It takes me about a half hour to adjust all 4 corners and that includes taking the rear spring out of the mount (faster) You dont even have to take the wheels off the front to adjust the coils, just jack the car up and let it hang, takes a couple minutes a side. And for $650... i've gotten more than enough use out of em!
