Current air suspension owners

Just wanted some feedback from current air suspension users on ride quality and performance. I've read some mixed reviews. I'd most likely piece together my own kit from universal air.

I do not have air suspension on the G but I have a body dropped silverado and have bag many car's/trucks I love the ride quality that you get with a air bag suspension. I suggest going with a kit that is pieced together rather than a complete kit cause you can get better stuff for a good price. if you have any questions pm me

Cool, i'm expecting costs to be close to $1800 or so. Where would be the most reputable source to purchase parts from with good customer service?

AIR-RUNNER is a good choice. straight up bolt on with integrated struts.

with air suspension, KEEP IT SIMPLE. the minimal the parts in the system the better.

yup . the beauty of airrunner is it's simplicity.

comprssor > tank> swith and valves> bags

that's it, 4 major components.

Air Runner (while nice) is about double what I can pay for a good, solid setup if I pieced it together.

I have the Airrunner system. Its a quality set-up. Dont go cheap on air-suspension, you dont want any problems down the road, would suck to get stuck somewhere. I get complements all the time, you dont see too many G's slammed like a pancake when parked. Best part, thieves cant steal your wheels and probably your G. Airrunner is a full strut replacement with 4 adjustable damper settings. Im using the optional Dakota digital display for air/height control. I also have the wire-less remote to control up/down, freaks people out when they see the G move up and down with no one inside or near the car. Im using a pancake style air-tank sitting in tire-spare area, when trunk is open, you dont see anything, looks stock. I say, save your money and buy the airrunner system.

Whut up Moog....

Local DFW car show brother here chiming in on your question.

Yes, air runner is nice. But i'm rollin a Universal air kit on my xB.
You have to be very careful when you mount the plates that the bags mount to. You must know where you want it mounted in relation to how high/ low the car will sit. Its tough to explain. You may already know about this, but if not let me know i'll go further.

I would say that the most important thing in general with your setup is prevenative maint. Make sure you have a good water trap, and make sure that you empty it. Water will F up your valves in hurry, same with pressure senders.
Also, with the weather as cold as its been lately here, a system that is completely sealed all year will start to leak. Chasing leaks sucks.

Also, Compressor noise is a pain... (jeeezzz you'd think i'm trying to talk you out of it... lol!) but as long as your prepared. I mounted mine under the hood where the factory air box was so the engine noize would cover it up some, plus you get the sound deading of the firewall. Not a normal place to mount one, and I have no clue if you have any spare spots on a G... but anyway.

I would reccomend buying a set of new front struts from RockAuto.com or wherever... Mod those, keep your stocks, that way if you have a catastrophic failure, you can just throw a strut on and your golden. Its a nice feeling knowing that you're not assed out waiting 3 days for a compressor or a bag to come in the mail.

Lessee, what else.
Oh make sure you get swivel fittings from Stuart hose off Indsturial for your struts. That thread into the bag mount/strut, but allow the hose to pivot as you turn, so that it won't pull out. I think they come with some but it's like a 1/4" hose fitting. I'm running 3/8" valves with 1/2" lines going to the bag.

You can get slow downs from Suicide doors if it drops or raises too fast too...

Oh yeah, digital gauges are the bomb. Autometer has a round one that will fit in your pillar gauge, that shows all four corners and the tank. Its ****.

I think that your $1800 number is a little conservative for a good system. But your on the right track I think.
If you need any help let me know, I used to hang with German and some other cats from ur club.

Wow, can I type anymore? Is anyone still awake?

Alright then....
