brake service for 30k
i have 05 auto coupe non brembo 30k... i haven't changed my pads yet and soon will be my first time so i was wonderin would i have to change or resurfaced my front and rear rotors as well ?
The dealer probably will tell you that you may need new rotors and pads, probably fronts only. if you did 30k on them, chances are you are not an aggressive driver so your rears might still be good. As far as the fronts, do not buy them from the dealer since it will cost you an arm and leg. You can buy them from here http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...55&catalogid=2 rotors and pads, decent price and do the work yourself or a friend who knows. That is if you want to stay with stock, genuine nissan parts.
best to have them take measurements and tell you how far from minimum spec they are on the rotors...
usually the brembo's can last 2 sets of pads... but some times depending on how low you let your pads wear, you may not beable to resurface the OEM brembo rotors...

when the brakes were under warranty for the 03-04 models 3mm or less was the rule of thumb from nissan to replace them for free. you're just about there, might as well get them replaced.

I just had a 15,000 mile sevice at the dealership, and they told me I need new pads on the rear (3.5mm left), but the fronts were at 6mm. Dont the front ones usually wear first? I have an 06 coupe. They also quoted me $290 to replace the pads. Is there a cheaper way to go to replace them?
that is odd, fronts wear faster than rears. you can use the link i gave at the earlier post to buy your pads from there, it will save you money. $290 sounds like labor is there too. find a friend that can do it and show you how. easy to replace pads and save you the $$$.
