It doesn't matter if you are lowered.. You have more clearence then 1/2... I bet it is not even that much of a drop... With that piece dropped 1/2 that is still not the lowest part of the car..

When you put the washers on the top side of the gt-spec bar it will drop the bar a bit and give you clearence so it will not hit..

Let me see if I can find any pics of my setup to better explain what I mean.

It is the lowest part of my car i think because whenever i go over a large bump that i have to scrape i scrape the brace and nothing else. And just to make sure, that is a yes for the spacer space is 1/2 total alll around?

Okay, so this post is just for future reference so anyone else having this problem can solve it themselves.

So today i went to work on this problem. What i did was i took the washers that already came with the gt spec brace and used that as the spacer and thats it. I didn't measure it but i think the thickness would be about 3/8". Then I put 3 pieces of the heat wrap that over lap half way over each other piece on the exhaust pipe where it would've hit the brace before(just in case). So far, everything is perfect. I don't think that the exhaust hits the brace anymore. Everything sounds normal now. Thanks for all the help guys. I really appreciate it!

Update: The heat wrap isn't needed. just the washers as spacers.

Top Speed sells hard urethane exhaust hangers that will reduce some of the movement which might help.

you need new exhaust rubber hangers, they are cheap and pretty easy to install with a lift and some wd-40/ screwdriver. Lowering the center brace will make enough room for a couple months. Do it right the first time, exhaust will also move less, may feel less movement.
