I have a bad clunk in my front suspension. Any ideas?
I had a bad clunking in the front driver side wheel area. It sounded liek the strut was lose or broken. It was a very solid clunk. Not anything like a heat shield rattle or any other kinda of rattle, this is a soild CLUNK...
I was wanting to lower the car anyhow, and I have just over 80k miles on the car, so I figured I would go for it all now... I put brand new Struts and shocks, brand new Strut bushing plates, and Tein springs. I also changed my rotors since they were warped. So All bolts are tight on the brakes, all joints, bushings and suspension bolts appear to the tight. The sway bar links appear to be in great shape also.... The steering has no play in it...
I am completely stumped... I don't have any idea what the clunking could be coming from. Are there any notorious issues with the front ends of these cars that I should be looking into????

yeah... sounds like it... BUT we just had the sway bars lose when we dropped the car. The end links were not broken and they looked fine... Is it not easy to see when the link is messed up???

well mine started that clunking noise and the some time later it just split in half. I got aftermarket sways though on their hardest setting.
They dont have to be broken to make moise though.

so what is the best fix? bushing kit? new end links? or just a whole new sway bar setup? I just hate to spend a bunch of money on a new swaybar setup when I will never push the car hard enough to notice the difference.
