Help me decide: tein basic vs. z htecs

I got a set of 19" Works coming in and I can't decide between tein basic or 350 z htecs for my drop. I have about 40k miles on my car, so shock replacement is not something i have to worry about immediately, maybe in the next 2 or 3 yrs. i've read up on the specs and the h techs will give me about the drop i'm looking for, maybe not enough. the basics can be adjusted. i'm not sure if it's worth the extra $$$ though.

Looks like you've covered the pros and cons of the two.

The adjustability and new shocks is definitely a plus on the basics. The price is definitely a plus on the htechs.

it really comes down to how much drop you are looking for, the z-htechs are pretty conservative and along with a springmount mod will yield a decent drop all around, but the basics can go lower in the front, and you can drop it to the exact level you want to clear any major obstacles you normally would encounter

+1 There were a lot of variables to consider so I wanted to be able to raise or lower. I had springs and D-Specs, nothing wrong with them but I'm happier with the Basics

thanks guys for the feedback. i believe i'm going w/ the basics so i don't have to worry about shocks in the near future. plus i like the idea i can tweak them exactly the way i want.

I've had both and I prefer the Basics for the height adjustability and ride quality.

neither. go BC Sports coilovers. If you replace the springs the valving of your shocks wont match your new springs. If you get basics, well I wont say much about those since I would never purchase basics.
