Bad suspension install?
Bad suspension install?
I just got my suspension installed at one six motorsports after arecommendation here and I'm kind of concerned. First of all it was supposed to take 3-4hrs, but took a whole 7hrs and cost me $290 instead of the original estimate of $200-$250. They were drilling something and claimed the rear SPC camber kit had to be slightly modified to fit. I thought it was made specifically for the G. Also they did not install the shim kit that came with the SPC front camber kit claiming that I may not need it and that the alignment shop will determine this and install if needed. Any thoughts?
the rear kit shouldnt have to be modified, its the hole for the toe bolt that had to be elongated so your toe can be adjusted. so thats what they had to drill out. 290 for springs, shocks and camber kit is a great price for install
Yeah you're right it was the hole for the toe bolt. I'm just not familiar with it I guess so I didn't know. I've done a few suspension installs, but never installed a camber kit. What about that shim kit that was never installed? What's that for exactly?
Shouldn't be any drilling needed for that install. Dont know why they would tell you that but if I were you I'd find out what they did exactly. The camber kits should just bolt right up anyways to by the way. Prolly didn't install the shims because they didn't know where they go. lol. Most people just leave theirs out though.

without it you will only have +/- 1 deg of camber adjustment
Everything sounds fine to me about the installation. The drilling was for the toe bolts. Only cars with extreme drops need the SPC hub shims up front. I didn't install them on either of my G's. $290 isn't a bad price for the installation.
