Who has them Ohlin suspensions????

I heard they are the best suspensions and gruppe-s is offering it to me for 2999. Does anyone have them? i read on 350zwiki that it gives comfort as well as track performance. Do you guys have the same experience? Also, do you guys know of any other place that sells them cheaper?

I think they are the best, if not one of the best (I haven't seen a shock dyno for the Z33 application,so that part is a open question).

I wised up earlier this year that no matter how I adjusted my Truechoice setup, something wasn't cutting it. I considered Zeal, but ruled it out because I was not going to wait for a non truecoilover setup to be special ordered (I will NOT run a truecoilover or that much rear wheel rate). And I could find absolutely no supportive info to justify the price for the zeals, with Ohlins I found a ton of info. I considered a used set of Moton shocks (didn't matter since I waited too long and they were sold). I also considered Tein Monoflex and HKS III. In the end, the funds I had set aside for the Ohlins, ended up being used for my Kitchen remodel (cost overruns). otherwise I've have them on the car as we speak.

So, instead of the Ohlins I ended up going with a setup that has a lower initial cost. Bilstein Pss9. Though to suit my needs, I will respring and revalve them. One key to that end is how may parts can be had for the revalve process from Bilstein. I can basically explain what I want to the shop and point to a shock dyno and ask for the curves to be reshaped.

I recommend that you look into maybe saving a few hundred and find a place that still have the PCV in stock vs the newer DFV. Don't get me wrong, I like what the DFV add's, but I'm not convinced about it's switch to a aluminum case construction as far as long term wear goes inside the piston. I have pricing from a sponcer on my350Z that I will pm you on both.

Gsedan35,

Does this mean you will be changing out from a progressive spring to a linear spring, and revalving to match? Please keep us updated, as I ( and I'm sure others) am interested in your results, as well as the cost-effectiveness vs. purchasing the Ohlins outright.

Also, I am familiar with your opinions re: progressive springs. Although I don't recall it ever being mentioned, I'm assuming you track your car?

Thanks,
Steven

Zoom750,

Yes, that's the idea.

Goal is to have the car track ready, but with the reality that where ever I ask it to perform, I won't be so lucky as to have a road or track that is frozen lake smooth.

Got it. Good luck with the project.

To the OP, you could also try Adam @ Z1 Performance. (www.z1auto.com)
