Exclamation caliper painting anyone?

well i just hated how my calipers look so dull so i went down to my local autozone and picked up some duplicolor caliper paint kit http://www.duplicolor.com/products/caliper.html. i wanted black but red is all they had. I actually removed the pads but not the whole caliper to make it somewhat a "clean" look with out splashing the paint everywhere. the kit came with everything you need and took less than hr to do all 4 calipers.

was just a cheap upgrade, that look pretty good without having to powdercoat.

now on to the pics

before

after

well this will get me by untill i get more $$ for some 6pots lol

hope i dont get flamed for this

Looks good, definately an upgrade from stock.
Been looking into doing this, can you refer me to a DIY?

its pretty simple man,

heres a quick summary:

1.remove wheels

2.remove (1) 12 mm bolt holding the the brake like to the spindle

3.removed (1) 14mm bolt holding the caliper the bracket ( so you can access the the bottom of the caliper to paint)

4.the brake pads should just pull out and removed the retaining metal clips

5.then use the supplied brake clean to take off any grim or dirt that might be present

6.i used a tooth brush to get it to the tighter spots, then brake clean again

7.shake up the can of duplicolor paint very thoroughly and start applying the paint to the caliper

8.use light coats, then build it up for a high gloss 9 allow 30min in between coats, i did 2 coats)

9.after that your pretty much dont just reverse process

Also you can check the Duplicolor web site. They have a diy video on there.

The car looks good, but find some black paint and paint them black. The OEM non-Brembo calipers are nothing to show off. The Hyndai Rio driving down the road next to you has the same basic brakes as the non-Brembo OEM calipers.

Rear: 12.1-inch X .63-inch power-assisted vented disc - 1 piston

I did mine black with silver Infiniti caliper stickers I got off of ebay. I like the way it looks since a BBK is not in my budget.

Hey guys, I am about to paint my calipers with the G2 kit. Does anyone know how to deal with the contact area of the calipers that touch the pads? Do we paint that also?
