I need quiet brakes but dont know which pads to get

My fiance has a 2004 G35X. The stock pads and rotors were shot at less than 30,000 miles. I replaced rotors with power slot Cryo treated rotors and used hawk hps pads. This combo has worked perfectly for over 2 years till now. The car now has 7X,XXX miles on it and the hawk pads still look close to new but they are now squealing like a stuck pig.

What pads are known to be quiet for these cars? Quiet is my number 1 objective.

I got cross/drilled rotors from Rotorpros and got some Project Mu B-Force pads. I am very happy with this set up. A little noisy, awesome stopping power and 0 fade even after numerous hard stops. I had Hawk HPS pads and got rid of them ASAP.

I replaced my Brembo rotors with Stoptech slotted and replaced pads with Project Mu. Never hear a peep from them.

Brakes Imo

NISMO R-Tune pads. Cost is under 100 bucks, dust is minimal, bed them properly and they are quiet, life of pads is great. I installed the at approx 60k. I now have 105k an counting and i still have 3-4 millimeters left before they need to be changed. Oh, and I drive the car as hard as possible whenever possible...

Where did you buy yours? I am in need BADLY for front brakes, possibly rotors. I dont have Brembo, so i heard hawk pads were good. But after reading that people now dont like them, i dont know where to turn.

Hey, thanks for that. Would you recommend the OEM rotors? I dont want to spend a ton of money, but dont want to have to replace or hear a lot of noise soon either...

Brakes Brakes

Stop Tech makes replacement rotors for Brembo and Non Brembo and they are only a few dollars more than OEM. You can find them at the same site under brakes. They also have OEM's listed so you can compare them.

if your rotors and pads still look good, but are noisey .. try chamfering and deglazing the brakes ... which means lightly sand down the pads so there is no sharp edges and remove a light layer of the pad itself .. as for the rotors scuff them with criss/cross movement with some mild sand paper

I have a 2005 and I was going to get Nismo R-tune brakes and Stoptech rotors, but mynismo.com only seems to carry those products for 2003-2004. What year is your G35?

I have an 03 Coupe. Call and double check the application with Eddie or Andy. Not all the info on www.mynismo.com is 100% accurate. The R-Tune pads my fit the 05-06. Either guy will know for sure...

You were right. They had the stoptech rotors for my car, but just not on the website. I ended up getting the Project Mu NS pads because the Nismo R pads are not made for my car. Thanks.

Brakes Project Mu's

Cool, which Mu's did you get??? I love the NISMO's, but I have heard the HC+ Mu's are great, even though they are a lil pricey. Just wondering if you got the HC+'s so you could give me your feedback. Thanks...

you had Hawk HPS's, damn... I have had them on all my cars, all with xdrilled/slotted rotors, never any noise. Ive heard nothing but good things about project Mu pads, I cant really speak from experience.
