I need new (correct size) brake pads

I have a 2005 G35 Coupe 6mt and I need to replace my brake pads. I have a NON-Brembo, 2WD coupe.

On two different occasions I have gone to Advanced Auto Parts and Pep Boys to get brake pads and they keep giving me the wrong brake pads. They keep giving me smaller brake pads for the 05 sedan and not the coupe. They say their computer system can't differentiate between the sedan or coupe. WTF?! I have called 4 different auto parts stores and got the same result. No one seems to know what kind on pads are on my car....

Now I have decided to get Hawk HPS pads and I don't want to order them from someone online unless they can assure me that it will be the correct size for the coupe and not sedan. Can someone please help

sorry if this is a repost.

I thought all 05+ Gs got the larger brakes except for the x versions?

Anyway, from my research (I'm upgrading my 03 brakes to the larger 05+ soon), the best pads actually are the OEMs. Looks like Infiniti reformulated their pads to be less dusty, harsh and still got great brake dist performance. ie.. less agressive pad but more braking power = same brake performance as the older brakes but w/o all the dust/rotor wear.

Unless you plan on tracking the car and need different characteristics some of the diff Hawk models give you, I'd stick with the OEMs. At least the dealer will know which pads to give you.

Interesting so I need M45 pads! I went through 3 different brands of brake pads and all were the incorrect size. I appreciate your input, thanks!

OEM is 162 a set from my dealer. When did Infiniti reformulate their pads?
I wanted Hawk because I've heard good things about them and cost wise they are about 115 a set.

I asked for brakes for the Z, FX and all were wrong size.

They apparently reformulated them when they redesigned the brakes to the bigger rotors and 2 piston front calipers.

Maybe asking a few diff dealers will net you a better price. Try mike@infiniti riverside.

Been there done that..... The rotors on the 05's are a inch larger than older coupes. Look for Hawk HPS part number PD888-11 (front pads). Racing Brake has them.

^thanks for the info. I ended up buying brake pads from a guy in craigslist. He sold me brand new front and rear OEM brake pads still in the box and wrapped for $50 shipped. He has a few sets available so if anyone is interested here is the link.

I installed them last week and they are perfect.
