Brake Replacement Question

I'm at 30K miles and need to replace my brakes. Should I look at after-market brands instead of the standard? If so, why and what would you recommend? Thanks in advance for the help!

Its a 2004 Coupe. I don't necessarily need high performance, I don't drive too aggressively (only sometimes). I was looking at alternatives because I was told that other brands perform better and can last longer therefore being more cost effective.

Are you just replacing pads and rotors? Or are you thinking BBK?

My suggestion for pads would be Hawk HPS. If you want something a little more aggressive (and dirty), I love Porterfield RS-4's.

Rotors are fairly cheap and you can go cross drilled or slotted for that performance look. Take a look at RacingBrake for rotors. They use a special high temp black paint for corrosion resistance that looks very clean and after market.

Huh??

No but really, Rotors you could try R1 Concepts, iRotors, Racingbrake..just google rotors+g35.

OEM pads are pretty good for daily driving. More aggressive pads are Hawk HPS, Endless Vita Nuova, Project Mu-B Force and others.

Many companies sell a Stage 1 kit (pads, fluid, SS lines) or a Stage 2 kit (Stage 1 w/ rotors). Look into that too.
