i usually stick to brembo brake pads, but ive heard many good reviews about the project mu pads that i decided to get a set this time around now that my front brakes are done son. (i have an 03 with brembos)

would you recommend the NS or B-Force?

where should order a set (cheapest priced)?

How would you describe your driving? Either would probably suit your needs, but how tolerant are you of dusting and potential noise?

I use the HC+ on my car, but I do drive much harder than the average driver here. (They also cost a heck of a lot more, dust like crazy, squeak, and chew through rotors like no other)

 

looking for something close to the stock brembos... i drive hard, but i dont track my car or anything. dont want to eat up my rotors, sick of brake dust, and dont want to spend a grip on a set.

 

Specs:
Model, operating range, friction
Project Mu B-Spec 0-500, 0.32-0.45
Project Mu NS 0-400, 0.37-0.40

the temperatures are in C, not F.

400C = 752F
500C = 932F

The NS would probably be more than enough unless you do a lot of hard braking, but either one of those will serve you well.

The NS will provide better initial bite, but the B-Spec has higher tolerances.

 

im assuming i can use the stock shims on these pads?

 

I have the B-Force on my car and they work great, with one problem of course. I used the OEM shims w/ a ton of lube. I even applied more lube last week....reason being is that they do squeek and it's annoying. Everything is a trade-off, you want more bite then you will probably have more dust/noise/rotor wear. I bought mine from mynismo.com

I forgot to mention that I did track the car at a VERY brake-unfriendly course and I had absolutely NO brake fade w/ the Project Mu's and some hi temp ATE fluid. These pads have excellent initial bite, it's just the dust and noise that bother me. What pad doesn't dust though, right! I can live with the dust, it's just the noise that gets me.

 

If you bed the pads properly, you should have very minimal noise with those pads. My HC+ is a squeakier pad, and after bedding, they won't squeek unless VERY cold or VERY hot.

I use new rotors with every set of pads btw.

 

I'll admit, I didn't use new rotors nor did I resurface the old ones. I had right at 20k on my car when I installed the new pads. My bed in procedure consisted of about six 50-0 hard stops. This may contribute to the noise issues I am having.
