My front and rear brakes are out along with the Rotor and I heard that the Infiniti brake pads are pretty bad and even the rotor is pretty thin and would'nt withstand any stress in case the brake pads wear out. I wanted to ask you folks whether this is all true ? Or should go to one of the Midas service centers to have the brake pads and Rotor replaced ?

Yes you've heard right about the short lifespan of the OEM brakes on the G35. Depending on how much/aggressive a person drives, the brake pads may last 20-30K miles on average, sometimes even shorter for the more aggressive and in-the-city driver. On the same note, the material on the OEM rotors gets eaten up pretty quickly, sometimes below minimum specification without warning. It's a good idea to get your brakes checked every once in a while.

Midas is not a bad choice if you're not mechanically inclined to service brakes yourself. I would recommend bringing in your own parts (purchased online to save money) and pay Midas to install them for you so you'd just pay for labor.

Thanks so much I got the quote from midas and it was arounf $660 for replacing the front rotor and pads and the rear pads and resurfacing the rear rotor. Can you please let me know if this sounds like a rip of or is it a fair deal ?

Depends if you are able to do the job yourself or not.

They are a lot of DIY links and the brakes and rotors are pretty straight forward. If you have the time and the confidence than you will save yourself a lot of money.
