The clunking saga
And the saga continues..., i thought the clunking was gone buts its not =/. im lowered, have stillen adjustable sways front and rear, spc rear chamber kit, adjustable end links, and im still experiencing the clunking sound. everything looks tight, i sprayed the rear bushings with white lithium grease, and still experience the clunk. its seems to be side to side dependent, in other words i can hear it come from the left side, and the right side, its not in the middle per say. HELP before i sell this thing!!!

i had a clunking noise after rear sway bar install and I finally got to fixing it this weekend. I just simply loosened the two rear most bolts (the only two you can get to when everything is put back together). I didnt go crazy loose on them.
I just loosened them enough, then retightened to the point where it required effort and then backed off about 1/2 turn of the ratchet. No more clunking and I double checked my endlinks to see if they were split or broken anywhere, they visually appeared normal.

when i put the rear sway in (same for front too) I wrapped teflon tape around the bars just in the areas that the bushings would make contact with, i then also applied a good amount grease per the directions for my cobb bars.
the teflon tip is something i have seen and read about as a little grass-roots trick for low-to-no maintenance sway bar bushings.
already after almost 300miles on mixed roads and cold weather my clunking hasnt returned and I used to hear it on a daily basis on the same routes everyday before i loosed the rear nuts.

fvcking selling this car, im sick of the problems. u do one thing and 12 others go wrong. going on my 3rd drivers window motor in less than 8 months, driver seat messed up again, clunking, rattling, if i wanted a car worse than my last one i woulda spent it on a piece of crap. i didnt think infinitis quality control was that bad considering i went from an I30 to this, and its sad that a car with 190k on it had better paint and less problems its whole life than i have in 8 months with this

I don't know if you've modded cars before, but usually aftermarket parts are rarely built to OEM tolerances nor have the R&D necessary to alleviate what I consider excessive NVH and fitment. There are few parts that I've purchased that either didn't fit exactly like OEM or didn't cause some little annoying issue I had to address. It's the nature of the beast.

CreativeDesignZ try taking out the sway bars and drive without them and see if the clunking is still there and go from there. If it is still there then it could be the control arms and many other things. Take them off and see what happens. If the clunking goes away, i would just swap the aftermarket endlinks with 05+coupe endlinks and it should resolve the issue. The thing about adjustable endlinks is the they are very hard to adjust properly and to tell u the truth i don't know how u would do it. There is always going to be some preload on the sways and that can cause clunking from the most surprising places.... Get rid of the sways for a while and try figure things out that way.
