Lowered on 350z springs, ride seems more bumpy.
hey guys, i lowered my 04 sedan on 350z springs a few months ago, and it seems like ever since i lowered it, the ride of my car seems to be less smooth. I never got my wheels aligned and i am not running a camber kit. I do have the sport package though so im on sport struts. has anyone else noticed this, and does this even make sense? does lowering it have any effect on the smoothness of the ride?

no. the 350 springs are stiffer, amongst other things to prevent body roll. this is true of almost all performance springs. as iiiiiekoiiiii said, he ordered a prokit, which maybe would result in a softer ride. coilovers would probably be your best option, they're adjustable in both firmness and height, so theoretically you could be slammed and still have your "caddilac" ride.
keep in mind, the 350z is a sports car, or at least is marketed as such, meaning tons of power, and because it's an import and not a musclecar, it needs to perform well in the slalom, meaning it NEEDS firmer springs to have the best handling possible.

but also my car is X, which is like 300lbs heavier then RWD sedans. Also I got my 350z springs second hand, So I dont think they have much life left in them.
Yesterday on WOT i hit a lump on the road and I thought I was gonna lose it. My rear landed sideways =X Not suppose to happen lol
I was about to order the H&Rs but the damperin on the Eibach seem more useful to me, since there is something missin on the road every 10-15ft in BROOKLYN.
Its true tho less body roll. I was going to put the stock springs on for the winter. But I couldnt see myself riding that stock height again lol. NO BODY ROLL and on the road around the Bends.
Cant wait for the prokit =]

The biggest problem with lowering the X is that the front struts are no longer matched to the springs. At least the rears can be changed to the Z struts. This lack of matched parts equals the bouncy ride. That and the Z springs are a lot stiffer than the stock X struts. I just removed my Z springs to re-install the stock X springs so I could enjoy daily driving my car again. I will say that with the Z springs the car would corner very nicely. I just hated the "nervous" front end when I hit a bump in the road.

change the rear springs to g coupe non-sport springs(342 lb) and that will take about 90% of the bumpiness out of your ride. 427 lb spring rating in the rear is way too much.
thx
DaveB has experienced the same by test-swaping to 350z rear which caused a harsh bumpy ride, which went away by going back to the g cpe springs.
