Removing rotors which are rusted on
you use a rubber mallet if you are upgrading and want to be able to sell the oem's if they are still good.
A BFH would ruin them.
PB Blaster is your friend and it is not at all the same as WD40

Why would a hammer ruin them? You're only hitting the portion of the rotor near the hub and doing so will not harm the rotor at all. Now if you hit one of the studs or did something really stupid like hit the surface where the pads sit then you could do damage, but hitting it near the hub will do no damage unless you're using a sledge hammer.
Put a pryber between on one of the caliper mounting lugs and the back of the bar against the inside of the rotor. Put enough umph on it to just tension the rotor, you can see it just starting to flex. With the rotor tensioned, hit straight down on the center hub of the rotor with a hammer or something of that sort. I used a chunk of steel about 1.5" dia x 3"...allows a lot more finesse than a BFH, but still enough mass to get things done.
Took me over an hour on the first rotor to come up with that and about 5 minutes on the second rotor to get it off.
