Camber/ Dealership Help

Ok so I lowered my Sedan on Coupe s-techs. Its Low I would say probably between 1.7 to almost 2 inch drop. However My engine light went off today So i go to dealership and since I was there I also had them align my car since I just had it lowered the past weekend. 2 things!

One is They charged me 50 dollars alone to just clear the Check engine light! I was like WTF I know there is a way to do it with hitting the pedals at a certain time and such. They said umm no you need a machine and they laughed at me! can someone please link me cause I know I seen it on here and I am not going crazy!! I will print it out and throw it in their faces!!

That was my first problem with the dealership. Second the said I made a horrible mistake by putting coupe springs on instead of sedan ones didnt really name a reason. They tried the best they could to align the car back to specs and said its still way off and i NEED full camber kit. Here is the sheet they handed back to me after it was all done.

I would like an honest opinion how bad is it? There a dealership so of course they tell me its a lot worse than it probably really is.

Coulda cleared your CEL at a checker autoparts, oreilly or NAPA.

As for your camber issue, idk.

I'm no expert, but you've got lots of negative camber going on. But expert or not, if you dropped your car that much, you will need a camber kit. There's basically no camber adjustment in the stock parts, so the fact that they got it that close is pretty good. That's the deceptive part about lowering your car, springs are cheap, the camber kit is not.

And you didn't make a mistake by going with the Coupe springs because even Sedans would have needed a kit. If you want to save the rubber on your wheels, I'd either get a kit or remove the springs.

I'm almost in the same boat as you. I have sedan S techs, and they've been on for 1 month. I just got an alignment with no camber kit and ran into some issues. The camber could barely be adjusted. Here is the result. I think I'm just gonna wait until I get coils to get a camber kit. I think we are ok with our negative camber for now. I wouldn't worry about it too much because it's not THAT far off spec, but it will wear the tires out a little faster/unevenly.

Your alignment is Fuuuuuuuuuucked right now, you a tleast need a rear camber kit to start out with. The front camber shouldn't be more than one degree negative.

That's what the "Specified Range" info on the sheet is telling you.

camber isnt what you have to worry about.

Toe is the enemy. toe is what will wear your tires out.

I think he's talking about the OP. He would have used fewer u's if he was talking about you.

True, toe will wear your tires out much faster than camber, and they both have toe problems. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't worry about the camber problems. I'd be pretty unhappy with either of these alignment results. They both need camber and toe kits.

That's actually cheap.

Wouldn't matter how easy it is to reset it, they dealer has the right to charge for their service.

Some of the previous comments are on target. Some fraction of a degree of extra negative camber won't destroy your tires. On one of my German cars I dialed in about a degree more negative, and two things happened:

1) The car cornered much better because I was no longer rolling over onto the outside edge of the front tires, and

2) The tires wore more evenly because I was no longer rolling over onto the outside edge of the front tires.

I know a little bit of negative camber wont hurt. But the dealership says I am off by alot. Although they said they were able to get the toe back to stock specs they say my negative camber is still way off.

Can someone verify its WAY off like the dealership says?
