Buy new ones, the lower control arms are about $175 a side if you can get a hook up at the dealership. And they're quite easy to install. I just had to replace my entire right side suspension (knuckle and all)

that picture is the compression rod ball joint but i'm talking about the ball joint that is connected to the knuckle/spindle. its not sold seperately and you can find the knuckle at junkyards. it's connected to the lower control arm, the same one that is connected by the endlinks to the sway bar, not the compression rod.

i just replaced my entire spindle as well and my crazy vibration from 65-80 went away. my old spindle ball joint tore and it was able to move up and down.

The one being discussed is the ball joint connecting the front spindle to the front lower arm. Stop talking about the compression rod ball joint.

In for updates. I would think replacing just the joint would be possible without having to replace the whole spindle.

I've had no luck at all ..hit up all my local dealerships incliding Riverside Infiniti. All say the same thing that the ball joint only comes with the knuckle as a set . The only part that they can sell me is the top rubber seat and the bottom locking pin but not the boot. They've recommended I try to find and after market balljoint but all my searches have come up empty.

I think I have the same issue. Mine looks worn, and I have a squeak when turning left / right. When stopped and when moving.

Do you get a squeak like noise?

I have replaced both front compression rods a few months ago with the new revised models - so I hope its nothing to do with them.

I get the same noise as well as a clunking noise when going over bumps at a slow speed; however, I am almost definite that it is the lower ball joint since it is ripped open and there is grease coming out.

I could not find just the ball joint so I purchased the steering knuckle which comes with the ball joint.

I am having it put in on Friday so hopefully that is the problem. If not I will be taking my car to get the compression rods replaced.

I think I may have found an alternative before I break down before I purchase the whole knuckle.I found an older nissan model ball joint and rebuilt kit . I'll give that a shot first and let everyone know how it turns out.

hey guys.. did you find a way to get that ball joint without the whole knuckle? I took this ball joint out but wherever I go with it they tell me that I can only get it with the whole knuckle and for now they gave me prices $420, $516 and $440... a little bit too much just for one ball joint :/
