What are the symptoms/noises a faulty ball joint would cause?

Would this sound be described as a clunking or "pitter patter" from the bottom of the car? Uneven pavement causes the vibration and noise?

After replacing my front shocks, the rumbling on the drivers side is still present on rough streets. I had a leaking driver's side shock so I thought that was causing the noise. I guess it is the compression rod OR ball joint???

It is a clunk when turning/bumps/other things. It sounds like it comes from either the middle/front/left or right... its hard to track down. I thought it was my struts but then when having them replaced we found a gel coming out of the ball joint... jacked the joint with nothing but the strut attached to the front suspension and it clicked... Thats how it was found on my car. They can be found on ebay for 150... Its called a front steering knuckle/ spindle assembly(make sure its not just the spindle)

Sounding like a creaky floor board

When I turn into my driveway I hear a creaking noise like a loose floor board in an old house. Is that the sort of sound that is related to a ball joint or compression rod or both? Not really a mechanic but I have the service manual and willing to try pretty much whatever as long as the job doesnt require any repair shop level machinery or any thing I cant borrow from autozone. Any ideas?

lets us know. my passenger side boot is torn and I think its crazy to have to replace the entire arm from Nissan/Infiniti for just a ball joint.

I would have liked to take a control arm apart if I had an extra. I've asked numerous people that replaced their entire lower arm/tension rods if they would sell me their bad ones. Nada

Z1 posted this in the Vendor for sale. I've asked but no reply yet. Those LOOK like the ball joints that you guys bought:

So maybe there is a way to replace them. Good luck guys

of course you can replace them, the problem is getting one by itself that doesnt cost more than the entire arm assembly from nissan

You have any pictures of the replacement or a DIY?
