what brake pads and rotors to get

So I need new pads on the Rear and had been looking at getting new rotors and pads anyway just not yet though. Anyone have any suggestions on decent set that wont brake the bank. Been looking at the hawk pads and maybe the power slot or stop tech rotors. Thanks guys

I had a set of Hawk HPS previously on stock rotors and loved them.

They were about worn, so I just got a new set and changed the rotors over to the drilled & slotted DBA.

They're both available from Stillen if you want an easy purchase.

Very impressed so far, and I may post a review on the combo on the Review Forums.

I'm not a fan of Hawk... In fact, I dislike them and think they are over rated. I'm currently running Project Mu brake pads and although they dust, they are great. I haven't experienced fade yet.

DBA rotors on the other hand are great, but I would never purchase anything not made by Stillen from Stillen - they are way too overpriced. While most of those rotors on their site are listed for $6-700, you can buy them direct or from other sources for about half that price.

Power Slot and Stop Tech have both been good to me in the past, and I really have no preference between the two.

The Slotted only DBA 4000 Series front rotors sell for $153 each at Tirerack for a total of $306 for the set.

Stillen's price is $263.75 for the set.

Tirerack doesn't show the drilled/slotted rotors, but I suspect the prices would be consistent.

Prices for the Hawk HPS are a few cents less from Stillen.

While there may be other sources that sell these items for less, at least in this case, Stillen's price wins, and remains a convenient purchase for the DBA/Hawk combo.

Heard good things about the Project Mu as well. Not a great fan of the dust however.

The last set of DBAs that I ordered from Stillen cost me $800 for all 4. I looked around and found online shops selling them for $400... Tire Rack was not one of them.

I just put on a pair of Centric Premium rotors for the fronts of my Coupe and I am very impressed so far. Very solid and true rotor with great feel and stopping power (OEM pads). These are the rotors Stoptech uses as their base for slotting/drilling.

And at ~$70/rotor from Rock Auto or Tire Rack, hard to beat for value.

Sh*t, ddin't mean it like that... just trying to emphasize how much of a waste of money ordering from Stillen is... I made the mistake and now I know, just trying to pass that little bit of knowledge on to the next person
