Hey guys. I've been talking to a G35Driver Sponsor, RacingBrake, regarding them designing and making a new, lighweight, 2-pc rotor for the Akebono brake package on our cars. I know that most of you G35 guys probably don't have the Akebono Brakes on your cars, but I though that some of you lucky ones, like me, may have already swapped your factory brakes out for the Akebono's, and may be interested in this.

Right now the front rotors are in the works, but they need 10 people to sign-up on a preorder list in order to make it happen.

They are offering a discounted price to the first (10) people to sign-up (FYI, I'm first , and the first (5) people will save even more - Free shipping within the continental 48 states.

Come on guys! If yo've got the Akebono braes on your car, then these are gonna be the rotors to have.

Here's a link to the thread in the vendors section:

Our two piece rotors will save you about 11 lbs! The OE rotors came in at 29.5 lbs, now that's what I call a heavy weight. They weighed more than the Z06 rotors!

FYI... I believe that RacingBrake also offer rotors for the standard Z/G brake packages, so even if you don't have the Akebono brakes, you don't have to feel left out... Just send them a PM and let them know what you are interested in.

It's hard to commit without knowing the price & specs of the rears. I'm interested in the whole package.

There is another thread listing the price and specs, Henry.

Edit: the link was actually in the first post that RB posted.

Yeah, I saw that. But I was referring to the rears.

I think he means he's looking for a rear rotor fitment, as well. I'll let RacingBrake respond on that, but I believe they are just looking at doing the front rotors for now and then the rear rotors afterwards.

I'm hoping for a complete set eventually, as well.

Fronts are happening first, then they plan to offer rears in the furture once they have the fronts completed.

Anyone else interested in these?!?! Come on guys, we only need 3 more people to make this happen!

everyone in this thread other than RB is referring to rear...

Read post #2 - those aren’t rear weights.

Someone clarify what we are referencing... I'm currently borrowing OEM G37 sport rotors until I figure out what I’m going to use.

This initial offering on this GB is only for the FRONT rotors for the Akebono brake set-up. Once we have 10 people signed up (only need 2or 3 more people), then they can start production on the front rotors. After that they plan to work on a design for the rear rotors if there is enough demand, but for now, this is only for the fronts.

you don’t need a GB for them to start production… just order them – takes 6-8 weeks from what they told me.

Discounted pricing on the other hand would make a GB worthwhile… how much cheaper wold the GB be than direct?

Edit: nvmnd... I just saw the link to the GB... decent discount... still more than Stoptech are anticipated to be though.

Since these rotors are actually a new design for them (not in production yet), they do need 10 people before they start production, so please sign up if you are interested. A link to the post for these rotors in in the first thread, GB pricing is posted there. Here's the link again:
