sedan needs new sport struts replacements
recently installed some z springs on my 05 sedan. my car came equiped with the red sport suspension. well i messed up the install with the front struts. now the car is bouncy. well i know i need new struts. cant find anyone selling just the fronts. any ideas as to whats a good replacement? not looking to do anything more to the car so dont suggest me getting coilovers or anything.
How did you mess up? The only way you could be "bouncy" is for the shock NOT to be hooked up at all or they just gave out and are leaking all the oil out. If it's the former, fix it, if it's the latter, you need some Tokico D-spec's but I don't know if they are sold in pairs. They don't cost too much anyway, just get all four. You can get them for around $650 or less. They are adjustable for dampening and rebound. It will change your car. If you add some sway bars, it really turns it into a fun machine.
BTW, the red shocks wouldn't have lasted long any way. Mine went out in less than a year.

i used an impact to untighten the top nut and the rod spun with it. when i put it all back together i used a pair of channel locks to grip the top of the rod and impact it back on. ever since the front has been really bouncy.
Before you do anything, give it a couple of weeks to settle. Then get an alignment. Mine felt scary weird for a while, until it settled in. Then after the alignment it was fine. Just don't drive too many miles before you get it aligned, you will eat up your tires bad.

Tricky situation. I found it easiest to put the shock in a vise while loosening the top nut. You will notice the very top of the piston has two flat sides you can slide into a vise. The vise will stop the piston from spinning and you can loosen the nut with a boxed end wrench.
