need advice on pads possibly rotors

I have a 04 MT Coupe 57k miles w/ brembos and I wanted to know what my options are. Looking to spend around 450 -/+ 50-100 for pads
and 1000 on the routers (if I decide) .. the stock ones still seem pretty smooth.

1. How long do rotors usually last?
2. Do you think i should replace both pads/rotors?
3. What do you recommend?

Just use for leisure driving .. no track. Looking for something with less dust than the OEM brembos

how are ENDLESS Vita Nuova ? or project MU .. these seem to be well priced from projectnissan.

How do each of these compare to the current brembos?

how long would it take to do yourself?

If you're not tracking the car, you don't need slotted/drilled/etc. I would recommend Centric Premium (plain) rotors. About $70/rotor and very well made. I just put on a pair on my front Brembos and they are excellent.

As for pads, realize that less dust=less stopping power, especially for "leisure driving". Lower dust, higher temp pads will not have good cold stopping power. I would recommend Centric Premium rotors with OEM pads, or perhaps Project Mu if you want to try something a bit different.

Doing it yourself isn't a big deal, maybe 1.5 hr per corner. You just have to have some basic mechanical skills and some key tools. There are how-to's in the DIY section.

Prject Mus have a pretty strong bite.. It feels like they wear down your rotor faster than my last set of hawks ceramic pads. i liked both of them though.

I need a brake upgrades and am going crazy over here. I don't have the dough to spend right now on a proper big brake kit and am trying to figure out what to get. I've got 8k miles on my 07 g35 6mt, and after 1.5 track days my stock brake pads are done.... finito.. I can't even drive the car... that's how done all 4 of them are. I even got a decent amount of pad transfer onto the rotors and am not sure if I should even contemplate keeping the stock rotors. Maybe get them turned, I don't know. I'm basically wanting to upgrade the pads and maybe rotors for now to some slotted. I got major brake fade on the stock setup after a few laps. What do you guys think of the Stoptech Stage 2 kit?

https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-...est-price.html

I saw another posting with a price of 700 for all 4 rotors, pads, and brake lines. I think this might be suitable for me, but am interested in some feedback on what works well. My uncle recently put his Z4 coupe into a wall at Laguna Seca and totalled it. We are planning on buying a M3 track car so I don't plan on tracking the G very much, if at all anymore.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

SRSLY?

- If you are doing just pads, 45 minutes tops (for all 4 corners). The bulk of your time will be spent jacking up the car and removing the wheels lol.

- If you are doing rotors as well, add another hour.

I couldn't imagine ever spending 6 hours to do pads and rotors, like G35fromPA is suggesting.

The OP asked about doing pads AND rotors, and I was trying to give him a rough estimate for a first timer since it seems like he is. 45 minutes for all four corners is a pipe dream unless you are putting the car on a lift and are not counting taking the wheels on and off. Even 1:45 is a pipe dream with the challenges you sometimes encounter with getting older rotors off.

For a newbie, you want to take your time and do it right, make sure you are squeezing the pistons back carefully, monitoring the BMC reservoir, cleaning the hardware, greasing the pads, etc. That takes more than 12 minutes per corner unless you are a very experienced mechanic with air tools. Once you get the hang of it, maybe you could do 20 minutes per corner for just pads.

I've heard Satisfied Pro makes good OEM style pads. Project Mu and Satisfied Pro is what I'm down to.

i went with the endless pads noted above. they're good. no noise, grabs very well even at colder damp temps... works better than the stock brembo pads.

i recommend them over the hawks.

you have to measure them and see how close they are to the wear limit. If they're close, then you should get new rotors. And for $70/rotor, why not just get new ones anyway? I'm amazed that you've been able to get 60k out of the factory Brembo rotors - my fronts only lasted to 27k.
