6MT owners, aftermarket sway bar upgrade?

Attn 6MT owners, from what i understand the 05-06 6MT sedans received upgraded sway bars, meaning we have beefier sway bars than the base guys.

Do you think we would benefit from an aftermarket sway bar? Motordyne came out with one and has got a great deal on it through xmas. What cha think?

you can search for used 350z/g35 coupe sways theyre 35mm if im not mistaken. not sure on the size of the 05-06 6mt sizing. but if you want adjustability, and more control over the feel, then definitely pick up aftermarket

I always thought the sway bars were the same, but the endlinks on the 05+ were better?

Either way, yes, you will definitely benefit from an aftermarket adjustable sway bar.

Kinda a shame there isn't a front bar for the AWD. I really hate the idea of only installing a stiffer rear bar. Changes the handling dynamics slightly

I have an 05' sedan, I put the Hotchkis sways on it and I just love it. It really made a huge difference in the way it handles. You can pick them up for less than $300 if you shop around. I set mine hard in front and medium in back. Together with the one inch drop from the 350Z springs, it really tears up the corners now.

Make sure that the MD bars come with new bushings, front mounts and the silicone grease. The Hotchkis do.

Ooooooo so you have the same setup mine would have should I go with the Hotchkis too. It's nice to compare apples to apples.

Sways aren't uber high on my list at the moment (plenum spacer is definitely above this) but not too far down.

Go for it Johhny! We do have an upgraded version with the sport, but I hear its a very noticeable difference with aftermarket. I need you to bring it down so I can drive it

Keep in mind that most sway bars are hollow, so a denser sway bar of the same size would be an upgrade too. A hollow, larger diameter bar would be a better choice though.

As for having only a rear sway bar on AWDs, as long as it's adjustable, you should be able to work out a good balance while gaining performance too.

The Quality and Craftmanship of these MD bars are awesome, can't wait to get them on.

The stiffest settings on these are 160% stiffer than baseline. Whats the disadvantages of having it on the stiffest setting besides the car riding a little rougher?

^too stiff may introduce oversteer characteristics. And also places more stress on the endlinks.
