Front brakes!!!

So i went to get my oil change today and they tell me i need new front brakes pads and rotors. It kinda got me mad cause i just got new pads on the car last october and these pads cant have more the 15k miles. But so i started to think im going to take this opportunity to upgrade my brakes and rotors. Im not trying to spend a whole lot of money cause i am also trying to get my car lowered asap. but any ideas on a good brake kit. i was thinking to go with the coupe brembo but i never really looked into brakes. thanks in advance!

How much are you willing to spend...thats the limiting factor here, like always.

get the oem g37 akebono bbk, if you go on ebay and type g37 caliper the have it of the front left and front right for like 200 each then you just need to get rotors and pads for the g37 breaks, preferably cross drilled/slotted with ceramic pads :-)

Did you look to see if you actually needed brakes??

Could always do the 05/06 brake setup. About the cheapest "upgrade" there is. Will fill out your 18's more and won't break the bank

Relax, just do the brake job yourself, get yourself some OEM parts. Plenty of DIY's posted on front and rear. Dealer f'ed me too by replacing the pads AND rotors. total cost $1,024.00. My brakes are strong though, and have been exceptional for over a year now.

I upgraded to the 06 Z brakes for about $550. Calipers/rotors/pads/ss lines. Way less dust and the same great cold brake power.

I hesitate to upgrade to the Akebonos because each front rotor weighs 28lbs each!

i wonder how much, if any, stoptech 2 piece rotors would take of the weight. The only problem is, if you buy the StopTech rotors, You are probably close in price to other BBK's.

But mass does play a role in fade resistance. The more massive the rotor, the more heat it can absorb and the more resistant the brakes are to fade.

The key is finding the rotor that is massive enough for the type of braking you do. Most if not all BBK's are EXTREME overkill for the average street car. They just look kick ***.

So how is the Infiniti Akebono 14" Brake Kit? I really like that kit and would like to give it a shot. Unless I can get my hands on some brembos. What do you guys think?
