I installed mine in my driveway with no issues. I have yet to corner balance the car so it may be a bit off.

I was just going to do them on a set of ramps and adjust them so there's no preload.

Doing them with your car on a ramp will work fine. Just adjust the length so that you don't have to force the bolt though, it should slide right in. You can add weight to the drivers side seat based on your weight but I don't think it will make much difference. You do that during the corner balance process but not needed to adjust endlinks.

klubb, not sure why u had issues, i had no problems with my car up on ramps and a few sand bags in the drivers seat. You adjust the end link till you can easily swivle it from side to side (as per powergrid) and then put it back down on the ground. Theres a certain pattern in which you must adjust the endlinks as well, i dont remember the exact pattern i have it written down in my tool box

Maybe it was just me or my car. But i had plenty of issues 3 different shops and tried it myself and within two weeks i would break the steal bolt because it wouldn't sit right... I think it was just me and my particular car.

I changed mine out as well with OEM ones with no issues.

If you guys go to whiteline's website they actually have a pretty good instruction manual describing how to properly adjust them. It's for theirs but the concept is the same.
